On Tripadvisor the lounge at Grand Mercure has rather poor reviews and is reportedly open between 11am and 5pm.
Unfortunately, the Swissôtel does not have rooms with pool access.

Has anyone been in any of them recently and can advise me which hotel to choose?
Writing this from Phuket as we speak, I would not discount properties without a lounge. For example the Avista Grande Phuket (MGallery) offers free cocktails from 6-7pm on the roof top terrace for Platinum members. For me this is more than enough as an alternative to a lounge. Nice hotel too.
