For travel from the airport to the resort (I don't know if the Princess has a shuttle), you can use the taxis at the airport - they too are dedicated airport taxis, and supervised. It is a 10 minute trip from the Airport to the resort.
If you decide to go to the beach, getting a taxi home is simple. All the hotels along the bay have similar taxi-stands, with 4 door blue and white taxis. You can grab any one of those. These sites are everywhere - Walmart, and the two major malls (Galarias Acapulco and Galarias Diana) also have taxi stands.
It is also fairly common practice that if get a taxi driver you like, to get his number and use him exclusively. Most of these guys will ferry you around, and wait for you while you shop, eat, tour, etc. They all have Whatsapp.

Feel free to haggle (only airport taxis have printed fixed prices), and agree on price before getting in.

This is probably the most conservative (read: safest) way to travel around the city. Many people have no problems flagging down any blue and white taxi on the street - even the old beetles that still run around. It all depends on your level of comfort.

Thanks for your advice, so any ideas of the best dining and tours/attractions/nightlife these days?
