Just want to thank the folks in this thread for the info -- I just got back from a stay at the Carlyle Dupont Circle, which I picked mainly because it was available and close to where I needed to be. Had been hoping for the Monaco, since it seems like the consensus here is that it's the best property, but it was sold out. I was pleasantly surprised -- nicer than the Rouge I thought (the only other DC property I've stayed at), and the Uber car service was helpful since it's not all that close to a Metro stop (free Uber service within 1 mile of the hotel). They did waive the $25 resort fee for me, but I booked a government rate, so I think that's why. Welcome amenity was a fruit plate and bottle of white wine.
