I would simply recommend taking one of the hotel taxis, or a blue and white taxis. Do not take a yellow and white (collectivo, runs a predetermined route with people hopping on/off). Don't take the buses. There have been enough incidents on the blue and white buses that I won't recommend them anymore. The city buses AcaBus (red) are safe, but won't take you where you want to go.

If you have not been to Acapulco before, try to book an excursion to see the cliff divers, Hotel Los Flamingos, the Zocalo, Capilla de la Paz, etc. I am sure the hotel has relationships with guides.
