And why on earth are the preferred seat rows in the middle of the plane? The emergency exit I can understand, but how about the other two? Nothing says "premium" like having to wait behind half the passengers in order to disembark...
Trust me, 30" on a plane like the A220 is objectively great. LH group goes as low as 28 in some rows, for planes used on 4 hour flights. With rock-hard slimlines with no IFE.
I agree that the preferred seat placement is odd. Hopefully that gets changed, but I'd imagine that's pretty low on AC's priority list.
