It later came out that he had failed to comply with the terms of a previous Chinese visa and lied about it. I find no value in bloggers who intentionally mislead and believe that rules only apply to others, not them.
I found that entire episode to be very bizarre, because I’m pretty sure he had mentioned in a previous review that he had lived in China at one point. You’d think he’d have a better grasp of the rules if that were the case.
He is constantly talking about how “real” and honest he is, and in my experience, people who feel the need to say that on a regular basis are usually the opposite. Josh beefs with too many airlines, and I’ve concluded that he is the common denominator when it comes to all of the trouble he encounters. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he has quite the sense of entitlement when the camera isn’t recording.
