Even if that happens, so what? Yesterday I got a marketing email from UA telling me how much I’m going to like the new plus points. It was a typical marketing message full of positives, except, of course it didn’t say anything about better upgrade availability. Because we know that no matter how good plus points is, it all depends on how many seats UA opens up for upgrades.

Pre-merger, I really enjoyed planning for vacations, because I could always find flights that I could confirm upgrades at purchase. These days, that’s just a fond memory.
