I disagree. When I buy an upgradeable E or PP ticket on UA and go on the waitlist, If I am lucky, a few days before the flight I get the UG - or I’m at the mercy of those non-elites who get UG offers at check in.
On LH Group, after purchase I bid for an UG. Every time I’ve been successful, I get the UG well before OLCI.
I didn't say it's the same version.
I don't see UA layering on a third-party software application to accomplish what its current systems already do, i.e., sell upgrades for a variable cash price from time of purchase right up to departure.
