We're new to Hyatt but have been extremely pleased with both brands so far. Like I said when reading the descriptions we've been sticking with the ones that they say are new/refreshed. The rooms and breakfasts were pretty much indistinguishable from Hyatt House in terms of style and furniture, etc., except that Hyatt House had larger rooms with kitchens and so on. Given how similar the HP and HH hotels we’ve stayed at have been it seems obvious Hyatt intends the two brands to be synchronized eventually.

I found this TPG article which confirms this. Who knows how long it will take Hyatt to refresh all the older HPs, though.
