EDIT: I twatted AA and got this response "The ticket is issued in Main Cabin, and your itinerary is in Business. This will have to be exchanged before you're able to check in. Give our Meeting Services team a call to make the updates to your record."

I then called Meeting Services again and this agent said BXP1 upgraded tickets can't check in online and need to be done at the airport. They said the ticket shouldn't be reissued and that can cause "issues".

For people who have used BXP1's in the last few months have you been able to check in online or did you have to do it at the airport? I don't remember it being this complicated.
Meeting services is one of the most dysfunctional teams/groups in AA's system (and I realize that's saying quite a lot these days). I constantly have problems with meeting services and using BE awards. I find about 90% of the time my BXP1 does not get properly applied and the reservation shows as ticketed in main cabin with a seat in economy and it takes about a dozen communications (calls, tweets, etc.) to AA to finally get someone who can sort it out. It's beyond pathetic. Most of the time I can't deal with it until T-24 because most agents aren't able to see (or at least understand) the issue and swear everything is fine. Then, once inside 24 hours I call up to let AA know the issue has finally materialized because I can't check in. Then, I have to fight again because there are still agents who insist that you can't check in online ahead of time with a BXP1 (that used to be the case, but is no longer true). I just keep HUCA until I get an agent who realizes he/she needs to force the re-issue.
