Checking again I noticed that there was another entry for my free night, the Welcome Points.
The reason I was checking was that points for another night's stay haven't yet been credited. . . for some strange reason the reservation is showing as cancelled! That should be easy to sort; next job will be to chase Avis over a rental bonus.
