Basically, my preference is: suite (any setup) > 2 double beds standard room > 1 king bed standard. Since in case I don't get upgraded I do prefer the 2 double beds, I'd rather reserve that if I'll still be in consideration for upgrades. But if I won't or it makes it less likely, then I'll just choose a king.
If you need two beds and are counting on pull out sofa in a suite, I don't think Mayakoba has the pull out sofa.
