I guess I would have said "no pool or onsen onsite," I think the "and" threw me off. That's a whole different story then. When I reserved at Suiran, it was not clear to me that Deluxe rooms had open-air onsen, otherwise I would have reserved one. What a waste. Now I know, thanks.
Reading it again, maybe you've got it right and I've got it wrong. The post ends with "
so what we get for this hotel by paying so much" which is why I read it as "no pool, no onsen".
