Revenue based status is the latest fashion in airline industry - once it goes that way - I doubt I will keep my status (since the threshold would be to high I guess). BUT doing is that way makes the customer to shop around for the best steal he can get. I once was a SEN on my way to HON with LH, since they changed their system (and the quality of course) I do most of my intra european flight strictly on costs. Only to HEL and LHR I choose OW over money (no other direct flights anymore) - since my perks make it all a little easier. When AB still was around they where my first choice, for intra european flights. Now I fly all LCCs around and save more the 50% on the flights - even with luggage and legroom seats.
