It is probably good that the room upgrade benefit was removed from the list of benefits; it was a false promise in my experience. After about 100 stays in the last two years, I can say that I was only ever upgraded maybe 2 or 3 times. So removing it was an honest move, at least. Next would be the early check-in, late check-out benefit. I would suggest getting the franchisees on board, or perhaps this benefit should go as well. So I suppose my suggestion would be to do something to make sure that the current benefits are being honored by member hotels. Also, it would be nice to know the number of the Elite Customer Hotline.
