AF operated flights would mean a CDG connection. If you're traveling in the summer, there's a very nice daily nonstop DL flight from JFK to NCE, although sometimes it's more expensive. If it's still within 24 hours, you might want to consider changing the ticket. For PE, DL versus AF seats and service have their pros and cons.
