I tried a Square merchant. The NFC and dipping had a message saying this card needed to be swiped. I only tried dipping at Clover and it worked. My local 99 Ranch terminal didn't take the NFC, but took the dip directly. So far, only McDonald's and Burger King were able to take the NFC on this card. Most places don't have the application loaded to run the card via NFC, even when dipping works.
Most of the trouble using this card is online purchases as many online merchants don't detect the card number. I think similarly, using this card online in China would be an issue as online websites usually does some verification method with the bank directly (I haven't tried it yet).

Thanks for the data points! Your discovery of Burger King as working with contactless as the second known merchant is great! There are others out there, but they need to be discovered and reported. I'm surprised Square only did swipe as they imply on their website that chip & contactless as supported on all cards they list except JCB.
