Do you mean you were moved from Marriott to Sharq at no extra charge, or you got REFUND from Marriott plus free night at Sharq? The former is generous enough, if it's the latter then it's almost too good to be true!
I received a refund for the Marriott stay AND a free night at the RC, so I paid nothing for the night. I was impressed that not only did the hotel provide a free night in Doha, but the hotel did so without any prompting from me. Since I was notified several days in advance, some hotels would not have done much for me. So, I got a room at the RC, breakfast and drinks and my only spending was for tips.
