Are you sure? There is a difference between being walked during check-in time and showing up after midnight. According to the Hilton terms:
"Arrival Time: Your reservations will be held until local hotel hold time."
Imagine running a hotel and you hold 10 rooms a night for people who never show up. I have never heard of a hotel loyalty perk that will hold a room for you until you decide to arrive. Sorry, but it is not their "problem or mistake" when people don't show up past a certain time. I've always called if I was going to be late, and it has never been a problem.
That is what a credit card hold is for. Don't show up, charge the card.
I have shown up to a hotel a 3am once. My room was guaranteed with my CC. I expect it to be there for me.
Showing up after midnight does not change that
