Not sure what they would do if they see the room is empty for over a week?
Usually when I travel for business, I'm not in the room but to sleep and I'm not very fussy about having housekeeping every day. I use the DND throughout the stay and then do express check out when I leave.

I stayed at Hyatt Centric Madrid and had the DND on my door. On day 4 (after 3 nights) my key card stopped working. Front desk said it's their policy that housekeeping had to go inspect the room. When housekeeping arrived, they used my room phone to dial somewhere presumably to record that they were in the room.
