Never considered Westin, but me, my wife and 4 yo son stayed at the Phoenician for two nights, redeeming her Ritz certs. Specifically the Canyon Suites, which is a bit more secluded and upscale. The properties are close to one another and you can request for a ride via golf carts. We managed to stayed at the resort for 3 days without leaving. There's a lot to do there, food, games, spa, activities, etc. The service provided at the Canyon Suites was impeccable. The room we had was the largest room we've ever stayed in. One of the best stays we've ever been to.
Btw, if you are staying at the Phoenician and not Canyon Suites, find out the complimentary breakfast times for guests staying at the Canyon Suites. Go the next morning and walk in like you are staying there to enjoy the breakfast. They do not check, it's right at the lobby. It's like no other setting and presentation you've seen before.
