The elite/first class/handicapped/unaccompanied minors line at North never looked very long when I was near it. The PreCheck lines at South tended to be quite reasonable and fast.
The bigger congestion I saw was in the Delta bag drop line, which was really long during much of the day. During the late afternoon/early evening the Self line (where pax can check in, print out tags, and drop their bags on a belt) was not in operation. I don’t know whether that was caused by a staffing issue or problems with the kiosks.
How were the SkyPriority counter lines? And how did South look for CLEAR with PreCheck (which is the line that I assume I'll be using in a week)? How obvious is the elite North line and does CLEAR work there? Or is CLEAR too busy taking care of new UA elites who now get it for free or a reduced rate as well as other new signups (including DL people) that they're unable to take care of their existing customers?
Eight hours in the mess is very brave. Thank you. Was this a four hour shift that was extended when they asked you to stay longer? Or did you sign on for it out of altruism or perhaps in response to begging in advance?
