I saw a case in page one about LA, I am personally in London, but I couldn't find any information online about a successful case, or guidance towards getting one, I am sure there are 10s and 1000s of HKers who would like to travel back to China straight away for tourist purpose and not having to travel back to HK just for renewal. afaik, you need to renew in person at a CTS location.
