The only definitive answers to questions that have been raised about travel packages are that they can be used on peak dates (Lurker) and that there are no refunds (Terms and Conditions). With the exception of the Lurkers, none of us speak for Marriott. Most of us are simply trying to discern what Marriott's official travel package policies are. Since many of Marriott's policies are not written in a place where guests might normally look for answers, like the website, we sometimes rely on anecdotal information. Although the information we share is more reliable than hepatoscopy, we are none the less relying on imperfect information. Some agents who may be misinformed end up violating established policy, others may seek exceptions to benefit a friendly and respectful caller, and some agents may simply not care enough to help, which makes it even harder to know if the guest who did or did not get an extension did so because of company policy or an exception to it.
