I remember dining at The Hassler in Rome a few years ago. At the reception desk the guest was gently reminded that he had left his jacket there the last time and he was given a jacket to wear. I found that a classy way to maintain dining standards. (At first I really thought that he had left his jacket there!)
When we were at The Point one of the guests insisted on wearing shorts and no jacket at the Saturday black tie dinner night. He said he was going to go in full scuba gear next time. He was a loud mouth boor.
