I was being a little glib, and I understand the frustration of wanting to experience a nice elegant evening and having others not dressed appropriately.
But, the obnoxious behavior of the guests would be more distracting vs what they are wearing. It might be a little entertaining to see someone act out when asked to put on a jacket or be denied seating, but I imagine it would get old after a bit.
So, I didn't mean to be too snappy with my first message and certainly see your point. I just have to remind myself not to let how they are dressed impact my enjoyment of a nice meal.
