For this method: once you land, you have option to go upstairs (normal transit route/immigration) or enter transit area immediately (through the regular departure gate)

Note that there is transit security for everyone else (eg sq/nh flights from Singapore landing in Narita)

Thats a good shoutout. The last time I flew into Narita 3 months ago on SQ11 the security screening was missed and we were directed straight into the gate area. Not sure if SQ12 has same luxury given the additional questioning for pax flying to US are needed.
