Honestly both situations are not OK and customer unfriendly, as I've argued previously. I strongly disagree with the notion that parents with children should be restricted from booking BE, because it forces people to either pay more because they have kids or to cause problems and possibly delays at the gate. Rather, DL should do away with BE fares, or at least do away with the no seat assignment part of the fare. It causes so many problems.

I believe that AS sets aside a limited abount of seats available for assignment in the back part of the a/c for their BE fares. This seems like a reasonable compromise.
Bulkhead can only be reassigned in certain circumstances. Family seating isnt one of them. Bulkhead is usually C+, if anyone missed out on an upgrade I would complain.
