I flew EK385 HKG-BKK (blocked at 3:15, flight time probably 2:50), and it was a single tray one-and-done service with my drink of choice delivered with the tray (or shortly before). The meal was light, with no appetizer choice. It takes a while to prep the trays, and you don't want to be clearing the cabin after top-of-descent.
