The phone agents did so, but I see no indication in my AAdvantage account online to see if I was signed up for the upgrade, is it supposed to be written somewhere on the website? Furthermore, does anyone know how long before the flight to expect clearance for the upgrade (assuming I won't be put on the airport waitlist, if I actually get the upgrade)- 72 hours before the flight? 48 hours before the flight? will I get a call or message from American that I got the upgrade?
I was also wondering what the odds of getting the upgrade are, I signed up for it about three weeks before the flight, throught an Executive Platinum card. Does anyone know how to check how many business class seats are not occupied yet, so I can know what the odds for an upgrade are?
How can I check how many seats left on flight?
If anyone has a way to check II'l be glad to know how many free seats there are on my flight (AA 47, August 8th)
Thanks for kindly reading. Waiting for answers!
AA typically doesn't release upgrade space on a flight like this until around 24-48 hrs. before the flight. You will sometimes get an email notification however most of us on here just check your reservation at aa.com frequently in the days before the flight. If you happen to get an error message that's usually a good sign, call AA.
Also, AA47 is LHR-ORD (not DFW), and Aug 8 is Thurs (not Fri). But assuming you do mean AA47 on 8/8 then your chances are not very good. It's down to J2 (2 seats left for sale in business).
