There's a limit on how much you can claim per kg if your bag is lost for good. I imagine you can't claim more than that in any case.
Besides, there's a list of things you should not put in checked luggage, and I'm pretty sure that includes valuables. So AC would not be responsible for a Rolex. Sorry.
