Unpaid point reservation after cancellation date?

what happens to a point reservation booked without enough points but then is past cancellation date? Some Maldives reservations can’t be cancelled within 60 days before arrival but I thought as long as you have points within your account within 14 days that’s when they deduct.

1) they deduct the points at 60 days before arrival or cancel if not enough points at 60 days?
2) they try to deduct at 14 days before arrival and if not enough points they cancel reservation? Or they cancel reservation at 14 days and you owe a penalty since past cancellation date?

just trying to figure out when we’d need to have all the necessary points for a reservation non-cancelleable at 60 days before arrival.
