Unpaid point reservation after cancellation date?

Unpaid point reservation after cancellation date?

what happens to a point reservation booked without enough points but then is past cancellation date? Some Maldives reservations canít be cancelled within 60 days before arrival but I thought as long as you have points within your account within 14 days thatís when they deduct.

1) they deduct the points at 60 days before arrival or cancel if not enough points at 60 days?
2) they try to deduct at 14 days before arrival and if not enough points they cancel reservation? Or they cancel reservation at 14 days and you owe a penalty since past cancellation date?

just trying to figure out when weíd need to have all the necessary points for a reservation non-cancelleable at 60 days before arrival.

This. I got an email from a different Bonvoy property about their PA and cancellation policy. That property has 30 day cancellation vs 14 day for PA point deduction. The bottom line is: you owe a cash penalty after cancellation deadline no matter why and what happened unless you show up to stay with sufficient points.
