The difference is that , I suspect, the AAA makes its "member" CDP available to its members - was this a CDP that the bank had told the "member" that it was ok to use
If it was a code that he was entitled to use, I expect that a call to Hertz Customer Relations would lead to the Hertz membership being reinstated once Hertz verifies this with the bank
