We had a perfect time in Hua Hin.

We stayed at Baan San Ploen Condo just south of the Soi Bintabaht Walking Street area. Awesome pool and beach there.

Mostly we took the advice from this thread and laid by the pool and beach.

But we also took in Soi Bintabaht for lunch and dinner, got massages and even visited the dentist while we were there.

To us, it was the perfect way to wrap up 5 months in SE Asia: quiet, relaxing and we were even able to do some work.

Not the most awesome beach in Thailand, but nice enough for being so very convenient to Bangkok.

I would recommend a week in Hua Hin to anyone!
