On the larger CW cabins yes the second cabin is near the turbines, but it's a really noisy aircraft. How you could hear the galley in row 5 on a 777 surprises me, but at that point I can't see any seat that's going to work for you. You can't see the galley from that seat, and it does give direct aisle access. To avoid adjacent glances you will find a screen that can go up, just press the top button 60 seconds after take off - works for me at least.
