I think this was the most baffling aspect of BE tickets, no matter what status you hold (perhaps they make an exception for GS?) & it took me a while to understand / accept it (maybe not) - so for the convenience of other members ..
No seat assignments when you purchase BE, in some cases BE tickets are $30 cheaper than regular Economy & seat selection may cost $10-$20 so the choice is up to you (e.g. EWR-LAX)
