I guess it will only work in super cheap daily rate properties because no revenue manager (based on my understanding) will drop a room rate from say $100 to $25 (minus crew rates and such) knowing the room will not be used for the purposes of filling a room or else it screws up their ADR metrics.
But if you sell the same $25 room to 4 no-shows, you still end up with $100.
