My son (17) will be flying solo on Delta in a few months, with a very long layover in ATL. He is a SkyMiles member, but he has no status.

I will be buying his ticket with points. I am Delta Gold, and an AmEx Platinum cardholder as well. Is there any way I can leverage either the Gold status or the Platinum card to get him into a Sky Club lounge in ATL? Even if he had to pony up the $29?

Again, I am guessing that the answer is “no,” even if he wasn’t a minor. Am I right?

Please and thank you!
The only way he can get free lounge access is if you add him as an additional card holder which will be $175. However you must be 18+ to enter the SC and 21+ at self serve bar clubs alone.
