[Finally found the appropriate thread!]
Traveling with my 90 yr old Dad. He can walk short distances (he uses a cane), but he can't manage stairs and he's too unsteady to ride escalators, nor could he get on a bus if he had to climb up typical bus stairs. I've requested he have wheelchair assistance.
I've read that non-mobility challenged PAX go to T5, descend stairs, and take the bus to the Nest. I remain unclear how PAX then regularly board the plane: is it via a staircase?
So what would the logistics of this be for someone using wheelchair assistance? Has anyone here done this or have knowledge of the process? If it's relevant we'd be flying on an E75.
Thanks for any insight you can share.
Never done it, but my recollection is that have an elevator down; can transfer a wheelchair on and off the bus..and can roll a wheelchair up the ramp to the plane. (And even transfer him to a narrow aisle wheelchair if he cannot get onto he plane)
