and everything - - that is OMNI.
(Even in OMNI, being off-topic is supposedly frowned upon...)
ORP is a place to address the owner of this space, and the owner of
all FT space. I feel it is bad manners to ignore the intended recipient
of these posts and go on to whatever whims of fancy one might have
and satisfy the need to converse and banter with other members,
disregarding the person whom this is meant to be for.
I can imagine that Randy is interested in hearing about different points
of view here, as they relate to the topics posted here - - - - that are
addressed to Randy, and address the concern of the OP.
I can't imagine that it serves the purpose that this space (the ORP
forum) was created for - - if it is full of chaff and difficult to separate
the wheat from the chaff.
While none of us can speak for Randy, it is only proper to keep decorum
and limit the discussion to what the recipient might want to hear (keep
to the topic) and not address other members banter and comments that
are not addressing the topic, or to Randy.
Unless we are informed otherwise, it is prudent to act with respect, and
not take liberties just because we feel like it, or that we can. That is
too much like OMNI. I believe that other posters have expressed this
view in this thread recently as well.
Unfortunately, this IS off-topic, but said with respect to what some of
us feel would reflect and help the intent of ORP.
Having said that, I don't know if anyone here can definitively say what
the intent of ORP is, but some of us feel that if we don't know the intent,
we shouldn't be the ones to make new definitions by exploring the limits
of possibility without any self-restraint, or thought about the effect of
our actions.
I apologize for being off topic, but the posts that comment on ORP
becoming like OMNI do have a point that could be addressed here...
.
What nonsense.....Randy will determine when a thread goes "stale dated" and will usually cut it off at that point in time. That's enough control I would think.
