YYZtoDCA, there are people in your situation and they have gotten Chase to correct its mistake stemmed from POOR Software using keywords rather than actual auditing accounts. It is just a drag net performed by software, a very poorly written one no less. Though it is no longer a surprise after the 1099 debacle.
Assuming your side kick earns money from other pursuit than doing business with government, you just need to talk to a supervisor or higher, or write to Exec Office - but your time is running out.
