One more thing. I see that it is possible to put a BA award reservation on hold, same as an AA award. Does the seat actually get reserved when you put the award reservation on hold? I know that this is true for AA own awards. But in case of partners awards, does it reserves at the operating airline? I hope so, because otherwise the reservation on hold wouldn't make much sense.
