Despite the merger, there are still noticeable differences in the hospitality culture and standards between legacy Marriott and legacy SPG properties. As a former SPGer I still find some oddities at MR properties. One that I cannot understand is the policy of no daily change of bed-linen at legacy Marriott FS properties, including luxury brands such as R.-C. Starwood properties, while heavy on the message not to change bed-linen, still have the opt-in card. One of the perks of a five-star hotel stay is the luxury of having a freshly made bed every day.
