Grapefruit + coconut oatmeal is really really good.
TBH I've been pretty impressed with the new Alaska catering. Feels a lot more like Virgin America's now that they've worked out the kinks and the hiccups (more creativity! less hummus!). While the cod is due for a changeup, it's a better meal than I've ever had on any legacy carrier by far (hell better than some of my Etihad J meals) and could pass for a meal on B6 Mint. The morning protein platters in economy are bang on, really good quality and reasonably priced.
Those demanding simple slop can go to American or Delta. I'm glad Alaska's finally kicked the industrial airline food to the curb.
