I received the same letter and called Chase the next day (2-15). I work for a public university but have done consulting in the past. Last year I was paid by an accreditation agency (not for profit, but not government affiliated). I took the approach of being kind and friendly when I called, and explained the situation. I actually have a W2 from the accrediting agency and said I could provide it. The agent took the info and said I’d hear something in a week or so after his supervisor reviewed it.

On Friday last week (2-22) I called back to check the status. The agent said a letter had been mailed indicating that my card would remain the Business Ink. I did not have to provide additional documentation like the W2. I’ll be holding on to that letter for safe keeping.

I’m just glad I read the original letter. The envelope indicated it was important, but in this day and age almost all junk mail says that as well. I could have easily pitched it and would have a not so happy surprise in April!
