You will also see many, many posts explaining that expertflyer shows the specific configuration loaded by QR (even with the free seat alert function), so it is as accurate as possible. However, in all cases, as countless posts have explained repeatedly, QR is known for changing configurations frequently, so the configuration loaded for a specific flight today might be different later today or tomorrow or next week, etc. As has also been explained here, expertflyer offers as part of its paid subscription service an aircraft change alert that will notify you when the seat map or aircraft changes.
The main point was that before buying a ticket it pays off to invest a fraction of the time to investigate what type of aircraft is planned/reported to be used on such routing. No matter which website, how accurate or inaccurate, updated or not updated, but you go and check yourself, not relying on a rumor or blog post. All of that was not done by the buyer, and yes we know Experflyer is getting the specific load, showing blocked or occupied seats, alerts etc. all subject to further changes of course. The main point was about the necessity of a basic research, not the specific provider. So after 5 second effort when even ever inaccurate seatguru have showed 2-2-2 config did nevertheless rang a bell to be more careful in making consumer choices.
