Personally, I think the 2/13 changes are positive for at least some customers. Currently, there is a lot of confusion regarding the levels at properties and I believe it is one of the factors leading properties to not follow the rules ... to the extent their failure to follow the rules for benign reasons, they are just confused.

Legacy SPG properties were already used to almost any business traveler being platinum and failing to distinguish between someone who traveled two nights a month and someone who travelled 125 nights a year. Marriott used to have a distinction but now almost all business travelers at Marriott properties are "Platinum."

So, as a major positive, there will be an obvious distinction so I'm hopeful that those of us who are Ambassador or Titanium level will have better experiences on the property.
