Provo, Utah Marriott [Master Thread]
Surprised there wasn't a thread on this property. Staying here now for a conference at BYU. Just fine, arguably nice full service Marriott. Would stay again.
Pros:
-free parking in adjacent covered garage
-decent club lounge & very friendly lounge attendant
-hotel bar is one of the very few places in town that allows you to have alcohol without ordering food; still subject to Utah's 1.5/2.5-ounce rules
-coffee in lobby also important, no coffee on campus at BYU
-laundry prices are cheap for hotel ($2.65 for a dress shirt; $7 to dry clean a sport coat)
-location is excellent for the "downtown" restaurants (with the conference, we ate at Good Thyme and Black Sheep; would highly recommend Black Sheep)
-rooms in the North tower are spacious -- didn't get a suite upgrade but the regular King room (might be a "larger king" room) is perfectly nice for 4 nights, has fridge/freezer combo and microwave too
-room & lobby are aesthetically appealing; doesn't feel dated
-pool/whirlpool is open until 11 p.m.
-20mbps down/5mbps up wifi at 6 p.m.
Cons:
-you have to go outside to get into the garage, the garage fills up at night, and the elevators to get up and down within the garage are very slow
-laundry has to go out before 8:30 a.m. and doesn't come back until as late as 8 pm
-housekeeping is spotty, didn't replace the room service breakfast form one night, unclear how often they change linens, etc.
-bathroom is tiny, no shave mirror
