Although the event can't compare to the SuperBowl; hotel rooms in downtown Minneapolis for the NCAA Final Four are sold out for 4/5-4/9, but plenty of "Holiday Inn" type rooms are currently available for $200-$300 per night in Bloomington (near MSP). Rooms in St Cloud are about $150.
The reality of the deal is those rooms aren't really sold out, they are blocked. I have been to a Super Bowl and three Final Fours and there are WAY more fans from each of the participating teams than the Super Bowl which I would say half or more didn't have a logo of either participating teams...and many no team at all.
